The Lake Havasu City Police Department is currently investigating a fatal vehicle collision in the area of McCulloch Blvd S. and State Route 95. On February 12, 2024, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers observed a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Acoma Blvd S. and Demaret Dr. where a traffic stop was attempted but the Camaro fled from officers and was not pursued.

Officers later observed the vehicle in the area of Sweetwater Ave. and McCulloch Blvd. S. again committing civil traffic violations. At that time, they again attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the driver ultimately fled from police. The driver led police on a low-speed pursuit Northbound on Sweetwater Ave. before returning to State Route 95 traveling Southbound. Shortly after the intersection of McCulloch Blvd S. and State Route 95, the driver of the Camaro went left of center and struck a 2004 Beaver Motorhome, which was traveling northbound on State Route 95. The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Team responded to the scene and are currently conducting the investigation.

The driver of the Camaro, whose identity is being held pending next of kin notification, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A passenger of the Beaver Motorhome was transported to the Havasu Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
