Ariz. – June 23, 2026 – The Bullhead City Police Department continues its’ investigation into the June 15, 2026 officer-involved shooting incident involving Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies east of Kingman, Arizona. The following is being released as an update to the Bullhead City Police Department’s initial press release on June 15, 2026:

On Monday, June 15th at about 9:25 a.m. Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 17000 block of Blue Willow Lane in the unincorporated area of Mohave County east of Kingman to check the welfare of 48-year-old Sandra Keeme. While deputies were responding, they were notified Sandra was in possession of a firearm and was threatening herself with it. When deputies arrived, they found Sandra being physically restrained. Deputies intervened and separated the parties. During the ensuing investigation, Sandra stood up, armed with a pair of scissors, and began walking out of the residence. Sandra ignored deupties’ commands to stop and drop the scissors. Deputies deployed Taser devices, and both deployments were ineffective. Sandra was able to enter her nearby vehicle and retrieve a firearm. Sandra turned towards deputies which resulted in the officer-involved shooting. Deputies initiated lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived. Sandra was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deputies who fired their duty weapons have been identified as Deputy Dustin Fields and Deputy Angel Gomez. Deputy Fields has served the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy for 8 years and Deputy Gomez for 4 months.

As standard protocol in officer involved shooting incidents, Deputy Fields and Deputy Gomez were placed on paid administrative leave following the incident and currently remain on paid administrative leave. Any future updates will come from the Bullhead City Police Department.
