BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — February 12, 2026 — Bullhead City Police Department detectives are actively searching for Gilberto “Gil” Mendez III, 23, who is wanted on a temporary felony warrant for Attempted Homicide following a shooting incident early Thursday morning.
On February 12 at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers responded to a reported weapons offense in the 700 block of River Gardens Drive. Upon arrival, officers immediately rendered aid to a 33-year-old male victim who had been shot in both legs and suffered a graze wound to his arm.
Investigators say two masked armed males entered the residence, where an altercation occurred over prior interactions. Shots were fired, and both suspects fled before police arrived.
The victim was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition. Several others were inside the home during the shooting, including four children. No additional injuries were reported.
Through investigation, detectives identified the alleged shooter as Gilberto Mendez III. He is known to reside in both Bullhead City and Laughlin and is believed to be connected to other recent shootings in the Bullhead City area.
