BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Bullhead City Police Department officers arrested a 17-year-old male on multiple felony charges following a shooting incident involving a family member.
On Saturday, Feb. 28 at approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to a weapons offense in the 1600 block of Dean Drive in Bullhead City. A 35-year-old male reported he had been in a verbal altercation with his 17-year-old nephew. As the victim was leaving the residence in his vehicle, the teen allegedly fired multiple shots in his direction. No injuries were reported.
Police located several shell casings in the front yard of the suspect’s residence. Children were reportedly playing nearby at the time of the shooting. A neighbor across the street told officers a bullet entered his home and passed over his head.
After an extensive search, the suspect’s mother brought him to the police department lobby around 9:20 p.m., where he was taken into custody. He was arrested for discharging a firearm at a residence, attempted second-degree murder, endangerment, and misconduct with a weapon. He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center in Kingman.
The incident remains under investigation.
