A multi-vehicle collision in Arizona has resulted in the loss of at least four lives and injured over a dozen individuals.
On Saturday, the Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that troopers responded to the area of I-10 eastbound near milepost 89, west of Tonopah, following a crash involving multiple tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles.
According to officials, several vehicles caught fire in the aftermath of the incident.
Although the National Weather Service office in Phoenix issued three Dust Storm Warnings in the area around the time of the incident, it remains unclear whether this was the cause of the crash.
Initially, officials reported six fatalities and 13 injuries; however, this figure was revised during a news conference on Sunday.
Currently, officials confirm that four individuals lost their lives, with two in critical condition. One individual was hospitalized for precautionary measures, while five others were treated and released. Additionally, 13 people were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. No further information is available at this time.
