UPDATE 03/21/2024: MISSING PERSON/ HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- ARIZONA STRIP
This investigation began on January 21, 2018, when Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and
Detectives responded to the home of Jerry and Susan McFalls in Littlefield, AZ after the couple was reported
missing by family members. At the home, deputies located the victims’ phones, guns, money, medications,
identifications, and family pets inside the residence. The missing couple was last heard from on January 11,
2018.
Over the next several months several interviews were conducted with persons of interest and potential
witnesses. Ongoing searches were conducted by law enforcement with the assistance of many concerned
citizens. Based on information gathered, multiple search warrants were executed. Items of potential
evidentiary value were collected and sent to the FBI Crime Lab for analysis.
On October 15, 2018, Deputies and Detectives responded to a desert area near the Virgin River Gorge,
where two sets of human remains were located in a shallow grave. Susan McFalls was positively identified
on October 18, 2018, by comparing medical records and a medical device located along with the remains.
Jerry McFalls Sr. was positively identified on January 30, 2020, using DNA analysis.
The case remained active, and a lead was discovered. Kenneth Gene Snyder, 57 of Littlefield, Az was
identified as a suspect. Detectives conducted follow-up interviews with neighbors and acquaintances. As a
result, a witness was identified who alleged that Kenneth Snyder had shot and killed the McFalls.
The witness gave extensive details into the night of the McFalls’ death, claiming that Jerry McFalls and
Kenneth Snyder had gotten into a verbal altercation after Jerry approached Snyder’s residence. The
altercation escalated resulting in Snyder shooting Jerry, then Susan, and removing their bodies from the
property. Snyder allegedly threatened to kill the witness if they called law enforcement. Detectives followed
up on the new information, executing search warrants and collecting evidence to substantiate the claim.
Investigators have determined that Kenneth Gene Snyder was responsible for the death of Jerry and Susan
McFalls.
Suspect Kenneth Gene Snyder had since been shot and killed during the commission of a domestic violence
assault on his property on June 1, 2023. With Snyder being deceased, no arrest can be made in reference
to his involvement in the murder of Jerry and Susan McFalls.

Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster wishes to express his compassion and concern for the family during
this very trying time. Sheriff Schuster would also like to rebuke the notion that MCSO either doesn’t care or
are too incompetent to handle the case, as reported in the Mesquite Local Newspaper. “We take every case
very seriously and are making every effort at resolution. It is distressing and very counterproductive that
information is being released that is misleading or factually inaccurate.”
The following items were recovered by independent search parties and surrendered to MCSO for testing:

  • Presumptive tests were conducted on a mattress cover that appeared to have blood spots, with negative
results for blood evidence. This item has been sent off for further testing.
  • All shell casings related to the incident were collected by detectives during the original search warrant.
According to family members, a family friend used the property for recreational shooting after the search
warrant had been conducted, which contributed to the additional shell casings being discovered.
  • Bullet holes found in a shed on the property were photographed during the initial search warrant conducted
    by detectives.
  • Any other items found on the property were most likely caused by contamination from other individuals on
the property after detectives cleared the residence.
Detectives are still investigating this as a missing persons until evidence is found that reflects otherwise.
