On Wednesday (3/4), at approximately 8:25 AM, Deputies and Detectives responded to a property in the 4500 block of Muscovite Rd. in Golden Valley in an attempt to locate and arrest a suspect connected to a Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault that had occurred a few hours earlier.
When deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect, he barricaded himself inside a trailer on the property and advised deputies he was armed inside the residence.
Shortly after the barricade began, deputies observed flames inside the trailer and began taking gunfire from the suspect. Deputies returned fire, striking the suspect.
The trailer quickly became fully engulfed in flames. Deputies then approached the suspect and dragged him away from the burning trailer. The suspect later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.
The officer-involved shooting is being investigated by the Bullhead City Police Department, which is standard procedure in these types of incidents. The deputies involved have been placed on paid administrative leave.
The investigation remains ongoing.
