Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Public Assistance
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is asking for the public’s help in identifying an unknown male found deceased near Lake Havasu City.
On October 7, 2000, boaters discovered a severely decomposed body in a cove roughly 3 miles north of Sandy Point Marina. The victim is believed to have been deceased for about one month prior to discovery.
Victim Description:
- White male, estimated age 20–40
- Approximately 5’10” tall
- Brown hair, mustache
- Wearing blue jeans, Reebok tennis shoes, and a “Hot Boat Magazine” t-shirt
- Found with a Casio calculator watch, utility knife, and a flashlight engraved “JKP”
A sketch was created by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office in January 2001, but the victim remains unidentified.
The SIU is renewing efforts to identify this individual and bring closure to this long-standing cold case.
