A Bullhead City police officer spotted a stolen vehicle Monday evening, leading to the arrest of 35-year-old William Anthony Brown, who now faces multiple felony charges after fleeing from officers and crashing into a residence.
Around 6:30 p.m., an officer fueling his patrol car near Alonas Way and Trane Road noticed a white GMC Sierra that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. When the officer attempted a traffic stop near Lakeside Drive and Sandy Beach Drive, the driver refused to pull over.
Brown continued driving before turning into a driveway on Sandy Beach Drive. He then jumped out of the truck while it was still in gear, causing the vehicle to roll forward and strike a residence, damaging an exterior wall. Brown fled on foot, running through several yards in an attempt to escape.
Officers pursued and later found Brown hiding under a residential trailer in the 900 block of Harbor Drive. The stolen truck has since been returned to its owner.
Brown was booked into the Mohave County Jail on charges including:
• Theft of means of transportation
• Theft
• Criminal damage
• Unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement
The case remains under investigation.
