Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Gilbert Roy Selina, 43, of Kingman, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Sunday evening.
On November 23rd just after 7:12 PM, deputies responded to a vehicle–pedestrian collision near Northern Ave. and Glen Rd. Medical crews were performing life-saving measures on the victim, identified as Robert Lee Tighe, 42, of Kingman, who was later pronounced deceased at Kingman Regional Medical Center.
Detectives learned the first vehicle involved struck the victim and fled the scene. A second vehicle also struck the victim but immediately called authorities to report the incident.
A report to dispatch around the same time described a silver SUV driving erratically at high speed near the area. Surveillance video led detectives to a home on the 3900 block of Heather Ave., where a silver SUV with major front-end damage was located.
Detectives made contact with the residents, including Selina, who admitted to hitting the victim and leaving the scene, though he claimed the victim was initially struck by another vehicle.
Selina was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
The investigation remains active and additional charges may be pending.
