Kingman, AZ – On Friday, May 9th at approximately 1:57 PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the 4700 block of Ty Street. A male subject was allegedly pouring gasoline inside the residence and was reportedly armed.

Upon arrival, the suspect refused to exit the home. Due to the threat level, SWAT was activated, with units from both the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and the Bullhead City Police Department responding.

After repeated attempts to gain compliance, the suspect exited the residence and pointed a weapon at SWAT personnel. Officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect. He was taken into custody and transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is handling the investigation. The involved officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, per standard protocol.
