Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Tuesday (1/30). At approximately 8PM, dispatch received a call that a male subject had been shot in the head and the suspect had fled the scene on foot.
Deputies responded to a residence in the 3600 block of Northfield Ave. and observed the 35-year-old male victim with injuries consistent with the allegations. The victim was transported by ambulance to Kingman Regional Medical Center and further flown to a Las Vegas hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. After interviews were conducted, it was determined that the 17-year-old suspect had been at the residence when a verbal altercation escalated. The juvenile produced a gun and shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
The juvenile was located and arrested a short time later without incident. He was booked into the Mohave County Juvenile Detention Center and later transferred to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault, both class 2 felonies. This investigation is ongoing.
