KINGMAN, AZ – On Monday morning, September 22, at approximately 9:22 a.m., deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cerbat Elementary School after receiving a report of a student in possession of illegal items on campus.
According to school staff, they were alerted by students who claimed an 11-year-old male student had shown them a marijuana vape. The student was removed from class, and a search of his backpack led to the discovery of the vape, a pocketknife, and a realistic-looking pellet gun.
Authorities confirmed that the student did not make any threats or display the weapons to others. However, due to the nature of the items found, the student was taken into custody.
He was charged with Interference/Disruption of an Educational Institution and Minor in Possession of Marijuana, and has been booked into the Mohave County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
