The Bullhead City Police Department arrested Gilbert Houston Ruff, 55, of Bullhead City, following a traffic stop that uncovered a sales quantity of methamphetamine and several other felony and misdemeanor offenses.

Last night (September 9) at approximately 6:45 p.m., Ruff was stopped near Hancock Road and Ramar Road for an inactive brake light. During the stop, Ruff refused to provide his driver’s license despite multiple requests. A records check showed his license was suspended. When officers tried to place him under arrest, Ruff resisted by pushing an officer and acting combative, resulting in minor injuries to one officer. Ruff fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after.

A search of Ruff and his vehicle revealed approximately 47 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and cash believed to be connected to drug sales.

Ruff was booked on charges including:

Possession of dangerous drugs for sale Possession of drug paraphernalia Aggravated assault Resisting arrest Driving on a suspended license Failure to provide a driver’s license

He is currently in Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

The Bullhead City Police Department remains dedicated to protecting the community from dangerous drugs and holding violent offenders accountable.
