BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – August 21, 2025 – On Wednesday, August 20 at 7:40 p.m., Bullhead City Police responded to a weapons offense in the 1000 block of Holly Street. A 58-year-old female resident had been shot multiple times in the back. Officers immediately provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a Las Vegas, Nevada hospital for further treatment.

Following an investigation and interviews, detectives arrested two suspects: Tyler Rey Nelson, 21, of Fort Mohave, and his mother, Toni Marie Sierra, 40, of Fort Mohave.

Nelson was arrested for attempted second degree murder on a traffic stop at around 8 p.m. near Alona’s Way and Trane Road in Bullhead City. A firearm was located inside the vehicle.

Sierra was contacted by police at her residence in Fort Mohave. She was arrested for facilitation for her role in the incident.

Detectives determined that Nelson and Sierra went to the Holly Street residence to confront a resident about stolen property. During the confrontation, Nelson reportedly shot the homeowner. It was reported that the victim was not armed at the time of the altercation.
