With the 2025–2026 school year starting this week, local school leaders are urging drivers to stay alert as school buses return to the roads and more students are walking or biking to class.

Start Dates: • BCSD & MVESD: July 28 • CRUHSD: July 31 • TESD: August 7 • CCSD (Laughlin): August 11 • Needles Unified: August 13

🔴 Remember: If a school bus has red flashing lights and a stop sign displayed, traffic must stop in both directions (unless on a divided highway). Violators can be reported to Arizona DPS, often with bus camera footage.

Superintendents warn that careless driving has previously caused serious school bus accidents. Drivers should always slow down, watch for children crossing streets, and yield to pedestrians—even when they don’t have the right of way.

Let’s keep our students safe this school year! 🙌
