KINGMAN, AZ — Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Trinidad Alonso Meza Garcia, 23, of Kingman, on charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder early Monday morning (6/16).
At approximately 2:20 AM, deputies responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Powell Ave. regarding an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from serious injuries to his head, chest, and stomach. The victim was initially transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and later flown to a Las Vegas hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Detectives took over the investigation and identified Meza Garcia as the suspect. Witnesses stated that a verbal altercation escalated when Meza Garcia struck the victim multiple times with a hammer and then stabbed him with a knife before fleeing the scene on foot.
An Attempt to Locate alert was issued. Shortly after, a local business contacted authorities, believing the suspect had been on their property. The investigation led deputies to a residence in the 2400 block of Butler Ave, where Meza Garcia was located and taken into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman on charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and is also being held on an Immigration Hold.
