On Saturday (5/10) at approximately 7:46 PM, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the Fort Mohave Fire Department in reference to a male subject that had come into their fire house stating that he had stabbed someone. The subject, later identified as Alexander Cody Walsh, 27 of Fort Mohave, was detained by firefighters until Deputies arrived. It was learned that Walsh had stabbed his 52-year-old mother at their residence located in the 4400 block of Avenida Chico., which was down the street from the fire department. The victim was located at the residence and immediately transported to Valley View Medical Center where she was then transported by helicopter to a Las Vegas hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.
Detectives with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. A search warrant was obtained, and evidence of the crime was located on scene. The investigation revealed an argument occurred between Walsh and his mother, leading to Walsh stabbing her multiple times.
The victim is currently listed in stable condition at a Las Vegas hospital. Alexander Cody Walsh was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility for 1 count of Attempted Murder by Domestic Violence. This investigation is ongoing.
