LAUGHLIN, NV – April 27, 2025 – A devastating crash on SR-163 near mile marker 8 has left one woman dead and several others—many of them children—injured, after a 2005 Dodge Durango carrying 10 people overturned.
According to the Nevada State Police, the driver, 34-year-old Thomas Bernoudy Jr., showed signs of impairment at the scene. Toxicology later confirmed the presence of marijuana in his system. He was arrested and is facing multiple felony charges, including:
• DUI Resulting in Death and Substantial Bodily Harm
• Reckless Driving
• Child Neglect and Endangerment
• Failure to Maintain Travel Lane
• Operating an Unregistered Vehicle
• Allowing Unrestrained Children in a Vehicle
31-year-old Tierra Haywood, a passenger from Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple unrestrained passengers were ejected. Several victims were transported to area hospitals via ground and air ambulance. Their conditions have not been released.
Bernoudy is currently being held at Clark County Detention Center on $100,000 bail, with a court appearance scheduled for May 22.
