BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – February 12, 2026 – Bullhead City Police are actively searching for Gilberto “Gil” Mendez III, 23, in connection with a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning. A temporary felony warrant for Attempted Homicide has been issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, February 12 at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a weapons offense in the 700 block of River Gardens Drive. Upon arrival, officers immediately rendered medical aid to a 33-year-old male victim who had been shot in both legs and suffered a graze wound to his arm.
Investigators report that two masked, armed males entered the home. An altercation occurred stemming from previous interactions, and shots were fired. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition. Other individuals were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, including four children. No one else was injured.
Through further investigation, detectives identified the shooter as Gilberto Mendez III. He is known to reside in both Bullhead City, AZ and Laughlin, NV. Authorities believe he may also be connected to other recent shootings in the Bullhead City area.
Do not approach. He is considered armed and dangerous.
