BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – July 17, 2025 –
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Bullhead City boating officers responded to a report of a possible drowning near the beach area at Moser Avenue and Sixth Street.
According to reports, a man had gone underwater while attempting to float on a raft with a friend in the Colorado River. He was pulled from the water and life-saving efforts were immediately administered.
The victim, identified as 51-year-old Thomas Michael McCluney of Bullhead City, was later pronounced deceased at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.
The incident appears to be accidental, with no signs of foul play. Officials confirmed that McCluney was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.
