BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — January 20, 2025 — Bullhead City Police arrested 41-year-old Joshua Lucier following a commercial burglary that escalated into a barricade situation late Saturday night.
On January 17 at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to the Harbor Freight store in the 1900 block of Highway 95 after reports of a man forcibly entering the business by smashing the front glass doors with a rock.
Officers set up a tactical perimeter and issued repeated commands for the suspect to exit. Lucier refused to comply and remained inside the store. During the standoff, he threw a full-size axe toward the front entrance, shattering windows, and later threw a hammer, causing additional damage. He again threw the axe toward officers, cracking the glass and placing them in danger.
Police say Lucier discharged a fire extinguisher inside the store—believed to be an attempt to conceal his movements—and shut off the interior lights. Officers deployed a drone to help locate him inside the building. Due to his aggressive behavior, BCPD SWAT and negotiators were requested.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on January 18, Lucier exited the building and was taken into custody without further incident. The SWAT arrest team was not deployed.
The business reported significant criminal damage. No injuries were reported.
Lucier was arrested on charges of:
• Burglary in the First Degree
• Felony Criminal Damage
• Two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer
He was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
