Today, Bullhead City Police Chief Robert Trebes officially retired, concluding nearly 21 years of service with the Bullhead City Police Department. His retirement on Constitution Day, September 17—a date especially meaningful to him—marks the close of an accomplished career dedicated to public safety and the residents of Bullhead City.
At last night’s City Council meeting, Chief Trebes was honored during a special presentation recognizing his leadership, professionalism, and lasting contributions to our community.
Chief Trebes began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Bullhead City Police Department in 2004. Over the years, he rose through the ranks as sergeant, lieutenant, and ultimately chief of police in 2021.
As Chief, he guided the department through significant advancements, including:
- Adding 10 new officer positions
- Implementing a modern records management system
- Launching department-wide constitutional law training
- Expanding community engagement programs
These initiatives reflect his vision for a strong, modern, and community-focused police department.
On behalf of the City of Bullhead City and the Bullhead City Police Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to Chief Trebes for his dedication and many years of service. We wish him the very best in retirement.
