The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat made at River Valley High School in Mohave Valley.
On August 26 at approximately 1:45 PM, Deputies were called to the school after being notified that a student had made a statement about bringing a gun to school tomorrow. During the investigation, the student was also found in possession of THC vape pens.
The student was questioned and taken into custody on charges of:
Interference with or Disruption of an Educational Institution (Class 6 Felony) Minor in Possession of Marijuana/THC
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all threats to schools are taken seriously. While this incident is not believed to be a credible threat, there will be an increased law enforcement presence on and near the River Valley High School campus to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the community.
