Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have arrested Joseph Dewayne Chipman, 40, of Mohave Valley, in connection with an ongoing child exploitation investigation.

Chipman is facing five felony counts of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation and two felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The investigation was launched after sexually explicit messages were discovered on a 15-year-old girl’s phone. Detectives determined that Chipman had engaged in inappropriate conversations with the teen and paid her in exchange for nude photographs.

On Tuesday, July 1, detectives executed a search warrant at Chipman’s residence in the 10000 block of Copper Lane. He was arrested at the scene and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman.

This case remains under investigation.
