Last week, on Motherās Day, an unidentified male was captured on surveillance approaching the rear of Meoniās Restaurant, where he manually shut off the gas valveāan act that severely disrupted their ability to serve the hundreds of guests who had made reservations for the holiday.
This deliberate act appears to have been an intentional attempt to sabotage what is traditionally the restaurantās busiest and most meaningful sales day. While Meoniās has dealt with fake reservations, take-out pranks, and negative reviews over the years, this incident crosses a dangerous line.
Due to the shutoff, SW Gas had to perform an emergency response and full gas leak line test before service could be restoredācausing a serious delay. Thankfully, no one was harmed, and safety remained the top priority.
Despite the setback, Meoniās team pulled through, ultimately breaking their single-day sales record by serving over 800 customers. While some experienced delays, the restaurant responded with discounts and complimentary meals where needed, turning a sabotage attempt into a triumph.
