BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – May 6, 2025 – A brand-new traffic signal is now fully operational at the intersection of Merrill Avenue and Highway 95, part of the City’s ongoing commitment to improving road safety and reducing congestion.
This long-awaited upgrade addresses years of traffic concerns and frequent accidents at the intersection—particularly involving southbound turns from Merrill Ave. The project, completed by Perco Rock Company under budget at $3.3 million, also included major infrastructure work, such as paving, grading, and underground utility improvements.
The new light will be fine-tuned over the next few weeks, so drivers are encouraged to remain cautious and patient during the transition.
City Manager Toby Cotter emphasized that this is one of many road enhancements currently underway, including new right-turn lanes on Hwy 95 at Central Ave, Rising Sun Rd, and Sterling—with more to come near Mohave High School and Safeway.
As a tribute to Bullhead City’s legacy, the section of road from the former intersection has been renamed Brady Blvd, honoring former Mayor Tom Brady. Merrill Ave retains its historical connection to the area’s original developer, preserving the city’s rich history.
This upgrade also lays the foundation for the upcoming Anthem Travel Center development, which will include hotels, restaurants, housing, a riverside boardwalk, and more.
Bullhead City is growing, and safety is leading the way.
