“Bullhead City resident

Eidy Ruiz Jr., 24, pleaded guilty to failure to remain at a fatal accident, avoiding a second-degree murder charge in a plea agreement.

Scheduled for sentencing on March 15, Ruiz may face probation or three to 10 years in prison.

The incident involved Ruiz driving a Corvette at high speed, striking David Leland Arnold, 59, who later died from severe injuries.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney Jeff Haws argued Ruiz’s speed exceeded 100 mph, while Ruiz’s attorney, Michael Bernays, contested this, claiming a speed of about 75 mph during a green light at the intersection.”
